Ukraine’s leadership is worried about the possible intensification of Russia’s campaign against Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. This was reported by Bloomberg.
According to someone familiar with Zelenskyy’s thinking, the Kremlin regime will try to undermine the president’s public trust in Ukrainians, including the military. Kyiv is already preparing to spread Russian doubts.
The main thesis of Russia’s narratives will be President Zelenskyy’s legitimacy. The Kremlin will try to undermine this statement in the eyes of the public. The head of state’s five-year term is coming to an end, but there are no plans to hold elections during martial law.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy has already made statements about this. According to him, Russia will touch on this issue, especially regarding its presidential elections scheduled for March of this year. Intelligence materials from the Group of Seven countries indicate that this is Russia’s plan.
As a reminder, according to the Constitution, the presidential election in Ukraine is scheduled for March 2024. However, they are legally postponed during martial law.
