Denmark is known for its support of Ukraine in cybersecurity and defense, allocating an impressive 91 million Danish kroner to help the country strengthen its cyber defense. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Denmark.
This step not only demonstrates the international community’s cohesion but also emphasizes the seriousness of Ukraine’s cybersecurity challenges.
The Danish donation is provided through the IT Coalition for Ukraine, led by Estonia and Luxembourg. This coalition, which brings together other countries, has become a key player in the fight against Russia’s cyber threats to Ukraine. It should be noted that cyberattacks conducted by Russia are an integral part of its military strategy aimed at weakening Ukraine’s defense capabilities.
The signed cooperation agreement between Denmark and other members of the IT Coalition demonstrates the community’s firm intention to help Ukraine in cybersecurity. DKK 91 million will be spent on priority cyber projects aimed at strengthening the overall cyber defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Troels Lund Poulsen emphasized the importance of this step, calling the assistance an essential contribution to Ukraine’s long-term support in its fight for freedom. Noting Denmark’s significant contribution to cyberspace and supporting Ukraine during its struggle, the Minister expressed confidence that these funds will help strengthen the country’s digital space.
The coalition includes other countries such as Estonia, Luxembourg, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, and Ukraine. Financial donations from Denmark, Estonia, and Luxembourg are an essential step towards promoting Ukraine’s cybersecurity.
