Russian gas is Europe's past

Russian gas for Europe is a thing of the past. Russia should never supply energy to European countries again, even if a peace agreement is signed between Russia and Ukraine.

This was reported by BBC with reference to the words of Polish President Andrzej Duda.

How can we make sure that Russian gas never gets to Europe again?

The Polish president proposes dismantling both Nord Stream pipelines to prevent Europe from being tempted by Moscow’s promises and becoming energy-dependent on it again.

Duda expressed hope that Europe has drawn the proper conclusions from Russia’s aggression against Ukraine and that the decision to never resume gas supplies from Russia will become the norm for everyone.

But in order to prevent countries like Germany from playing “gas games” again, Russian gas pipelines must be dismantled.

“This pipeline,” Duda said,” is dangerous for Ukraine, Poland, Slovakia, and other Central European countries, as it means Russia’s economic dominance over Europe.
